Did you know that, each year, about three to five million people catch the flu and approximately 250,000 to 500,000 die from it worldwide? Also, did you know that certain people are considered high-risk cases for catching the flu? For many, getting a flu shot is a good way to prevent the flu, but be aware that for some people, a flu shot could be detrimental. Just in time for the flu season, addresses these and other related points on their new webpage regarding the flu. Click Flu Vaccine for more information.

“Every year, it seems like I’m surrounded by people who are sick with the flu. Inevitably, I end up getting sick too,” said Thomas Cazneau, Social Media Administrator for “In trying to find out what I can do to not catch the flu, I discovered that a flu vaccine is not only highly effective in preventing the flu, but it is also recommended by several government health agencies. So, I wrote the webpage with hopes that by becoming better informed, we’ll all be coughing and sneezing less.”

Kaiser Permanente offers its members a flu shot free of charge. Not all facilities offer a flu clinic. To find a facility near you, visit Flu Clinic Locator or call 1-800-KP-FLU-11. Kaiser Permanente flu clinics are open through November 16th only, so you might want to investigate sooner rather than later.

Non-Kaiser Permanente members may be able to receive a flu vaccine at Kaiser Permanente, but it’s on a case-by-case situation, based on the availability of the vaccine at the facility visited.
